What could move your score?

Some things on your credit report can be updated in days. Others take months. Here is the difference.

In days, through your loan officer

  • A card balance you paid down that still shows the old amount
  • An account status, credit limit or payment reported incorrectly
  • An account that isn’t yours, or an error the creditor confirms

A Score Express rescore updates or corrects this, usually in a day or two, at no cost to you.

Over months

  • On-time payments adding up
  • Card balances staying low compared with their limits
  • Older late payments and collections aging

These build on their own over time.

What a rescore can’t do

  • Remove information that is accurate
  • Add accounts or authorized users
  • Promise a particular score

It changes the information on your report, never the score directly.

How a rescore works

  1. Your loan officer reviews your report and finds something to update or correct.
  2. They request a Score Express rescore. You pay nothing.
  3. The credit bureau updates the information, and we reprocess your report.
  4. New scores, usually within a day or two.

Before you act on an old accountPaying an old collection or removing a dispute note can lower the score with some scoring models. Ask your loan officer first.
